2009/10 Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Winter Series

PSM Motorsport Ltd and the Minicross Drivers Association have today confirmed plans for the 2009/10 Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Winter Series. The series will take place over six rounds at Nutts Corner Motor Racing circuit (near Belfast), which gets underway on Sunday October 11th.  

 

"Working together with the MDA with the support of the ANICC, we are looking forward to the 2009/10 Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Winter Series which gets underway at Nutts Corner on Sunday October 11th. The aim is to build a highly successful Rallycross series in Northern Ireland which will be rounded off with a double header event alongside rounds two and three of the 2010 Fuchs Lubricants Rallycross Open Championship. Several competitors from the Open Championship have already committed to racing in the new series alongside the Northern Ireland competitors." added PSM Motorsport Ltd Director Peter Stott. 

  The class structure for the 2009/10 Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Winter Series will be as follows: 

  Division 1/Division 1s 

Super National (including Div 1A, Div 2, Procar 2000 and Revivals) 

Procar 1600 (Stock Hatch) 

Minicross 

Juniors (Both Minis and Irish Junior Rallycross) 

Rally Cars 

  2009/10 Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Winter Series Calendar: 

  Round 1 October 11th - 2009 

Round 2 November 22nd - 2009 

Round 3 January 31st - 2010 

Round 4 February 28th - 2010 

Round 5 April 24th - 2010 (including RxOC round 2) 

Round 6 April 25th - 2010 (including RxOC round 3) 

  Ron Watson chairman of the MDA added "The MDA is pleased to be involved with this exciting new Rallycross series and with the support of the ANICC we look forward to working with the Nutts Corner Circuit management, Northern Ireland officials and car clubs to make this Rallycross Series top class." 

 

The series will be organised by the Minicross Drivers Association and promoted by PSM Motorsport Ltd. Entry forms and regulations for the first event of the series can now be obtained from the official website - www.NIRallycross.com
