'MAD MARK' BACK ON TRACK
After a miserable 2009 season, with engine failures curtailing Mad Marks Fuchs Lubricants British Rallycross Open Championship title defence, the Citroen Xsara was back in action at Rallyday 2009 which took place at Castle Combe (Wiltshire) last Saturday. Tony Bardy Motorsport has now cured the problems that Mark has been having and the new engine was installed on Friday night in time to put on a fantastic show for the thousands of Rally and Rallycross fans at the show. Many fans came across to wish Mark well and said what a pleasure it was to see and hear the awesome Xsara being thrown around Castle Combe, which was clearly one of the fastest cars there. "The Xsara felt faster off the mark and quicker than ever. I have now set my sights on winning the Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Series which gets underway on Sunday October 11th. My old adversary Mike Manning has also confirmed that he will be there to challenge me - battle is all set to resume once again!" commented Mad Mark. The opening round of the 2009/10 Fuchs Lubricants Northern Ireland Rallycross Open Series at Nutts Corner (Belfast) will provide the perfect event for the team to give the car a proper test ahead of the end of season 2009 Get Connected! SG Petch Rallycross Superprix. The Superprix, takes place on October 31st & November 1st at Croft Circuit (near Darlington), as the leading drivers from European Rallycross take on the Best of British to fight it out for the prestigious Superprix title. The opening day of the event will also play host to the final round of the 2009 Fuchs Lubricants Rallycross Open Championship. ‘Mad Mark’ added "We have had a terrible season and have not raced for many months. We are looking forward to returning to Nutts Corner and putting behind the troubles that we encountered there at the beginning of the season. Hopefully we can also win the final round of the Open Championship which will set us up perfectly for 2010 when I will let nothing stop me from reclaiming my Open Championship title."
