Mondello Rallycross 1st Nov.
At a cold Mondello park today, Andrew Morris took a great Superfinal win in his Subaru from the
equally impressive Barry McArdle in his ageing but potent Renault 5. An almost dead heat for 3rd between
Dessie Tierney in his Tigra and the Evo of David Dempsey seems to have went to Tierney. Paul Pasco was 4th, from
Willie Coyne, Chris Grimes and Kieran Curran.
In the Supercar A final, pole sitter Tommy Graham only made it to the first corner before engine
troubles eliminated his Fiesta. Eddie Kinirons won with his Focus but didn't make the grid in time for the
superfinal. A Morris was 2nd from Dempsey and Pascoe.
In the Modified A final, McArdle won from pole from Curran, Grimes, W Coyne and Tierney. Brendan Coyne retired
his Fiesta on the grid and front runner Ian Byrne also retired his MR2, having earlier won the B final, from David
Donoghue in a 205 and Gerry Reilly in a Nova.
Front Runners Michael Coyne and Ian O'Connell both retired with transmission troubles.
The Junior A final was won impressively by Simon Quinn in a Mini from Niall Murray, Mark Francis and Paul
Barrett. James Fleming won the B Final.
In Stockhatch, Derek Tohill won from pole from Michael Duke. Noel O'Brien won the B Final.
